TY COBB ANNOUNCES CANDIDACY FOR STATE REPRESENTATIVE
Pledges to move district forward in bipartisan tradition

Shelbyville, TN – On Friday, Ty Cobb of Shelbyville announced his candidacy for Tennessee State Representative, pledging to work with all citizens to find commonsense solutions in Tennessee.

“I pledge to work with every member of our community in order to meet the challenges we face head on,” said Cobb. “I have been especially encouraged by the strong response to my campaign from Democrats, Republicans and Independents.”

Ty Cobb, a conservative Democrat, was born and raised in Bedford County where he attended Shelbyville Central High School. Cobb then attended Martin Methodist College where he was a pitcher on the college’s baseball team.

Today, Cobb is a farmer in Shelbyville and has also worked for 22 years as a UPS Delivery Driver.

“Growing up, my family taught me the value of hard work and public service. I am announcing today that I want to take those values and represent the people of the 62nd District. I have been going door-to-door for over 20 years, I know where the rubber meets the road and I am not afraid of heavy lifting. We need someone with energy and a strong work ethic to represent us in these tough economic times, and I understand fully what working men and women are going through. My family, my children and my community are the reasons why I am running.”

A commonsense conservative, Ty Cobb is a hunter, fisherman, trail rider, sportsman, and a carry permit holder. He is pro-life and a card carrying member of the NRA. He also belongs to Ducks Unlimited, the National Wildlife Turkey Federation, the Shelbyville-Bedford County Chamber of Commerce, and the Fayetteville-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce.

Cobb is a native of Bedford County and has worked in Lincoln County. He also has deep family roots in both Lincoln and Bedford Counties. He has a daughter, Jordan, and a son, Trevor.
